I dedicate this book to my wife Ana, my daughters Mia and Korina, my family and all my friends who supported me during the difficult times when I struggled the most with stuttering. All of you helped me become a person I accept and love.
First and foremost, it is very important to note that this is not professional literature and I am not an expert in this field. The idea of this book was born because I believe that in order to take small steps forward you shouldn’t have experts by your side, but those who will bring positive energy into your life.
A positive attitude is a step forward to a happy and fulfilled life. I believe that if you are positive or at least trying to be, it is much easier to surmount obstacles, but most important of all, it is much easier to pick yourself up when you fall. And you will fall for sure - many times.
This book was mainly written as a book on how to beat stuttering and negative thoughts, but it can also help with solving any other problem you struggle with in life. It is not a book that will cure your stutter or give you all the techniques and answers you need to control your stuttering for the rest of your life. The main topic throughout the book is stuttering, because I myself have stuttered my whole life and, in the end, I overcame it.
You can get the answer on how I did it in the rest of this book, but remember - victory can always be interpreted in several ways and it does not necessarily mean that I stopped stuttering entirely. What victory means for you, you should discover yourself.
Also, as a person who stutters all of my life, one of the most important motives for writing this book is to show the parents of children who stutter more closely our point of view and what we like / dislike hearing from them when we start stuttering. There are many different scenarios in the various stages of stuttering and most parents are simply not sure how to act properly. I hope this book will make such situations more clear and help parents with the approach.
Through the book we will talk about school, puberty and friends; how we experience various situations which may seem simple to others, but are very difficult and exhausting for us.
Since this is not professional literature nor a book written by an expert in this field, you will not find (at least not to such an extent) theories and definitions about stuttering, but only personal experiences and the experiences of other people who reached out through the website mucanje.com.
In conclusion, I hope you’ll like this book and most importantly - I hope it will help.
Being positive is the key to everything!
